Hi, I live in Branford. I can do a look-up for you but it may be about a week or so. My horse fell on me today and I just got home from the hosp. I feel like roadkill! Nothing broken though, just badly bruised ribs, etc. Tracey
Hi: In regard to the request for information on finding an obit from the Fla Times Union, from Blshipp@aol.com........ Let me caution you about that........ Be Careful!!!! I wrote to them and requested INFORMATION on finding an article that was written during the 70's...... asked the cost involved etc. Didn't hear from them for about a month and when they finally did respond it was with a copy of the article and a bill for $ 28.75......... a $25.00 look up fee plus the cost of the copies.. Perhaps finding someone who lives in the area and would do a look up for you at a local library would be a less expensive way to obtain what you are looking for.........Most likely the older newspapers would be on microfilm in the largest libraries. Good luck... Dee

Hello List, Got a little more information about my Hudson line, so, please let me know if you recognize anybody here: Mary Elizabeth HUDSON born Nov 16, 1869, FL died Oct 8, 1919, Jacksonville, Duval Co., FL. Married: #1, 1891-1893, Curtis Lawrence BROOKER. Married: #2, 1892-1895, John E. L. DELOACH. MARY ELIZABETH'S SIBLINGS: William R., born April 1866, FL. Wife's name: Martha Ann "Mattie". Seemed to live most of life in Alachua County, FL. Samantha, born 1872-1873, don't know if she married T. B. BROWN, or somebody else, or if she died young. (More later on this reasoning.) Joseph or Jerry (saw both on census'), born 1874-1875, may have married a Sarah. Francis, born 1876, FL, don't know if she married T. B. BROWN, or somebody else, or if she died young. (More later on this reasoning.) Walter Ambrose, born March 7, 1880, FL, married #1, Eva Julia ?, and #2, Sue. A. ? Lived in and died: May 22, 1957, Duval County, FL. "M. M.", a son, could have stood for Monroe, born abt 1885, FL, may have married a Jennie, seemed to live most of life in Starke County, Gainesville, FL. Here's my explanation for the two girls. I received an obit for Mary Eliz. who died in 1919 in Jacksonville, and it states as follows: "She leaves one sister and four brothers, Mrs. T. B. BROWN of this city; H. J. and W. A. HUDSON of this city; W.R. HUDSON of Gainesville, and M. M. HUDSON of Starke." (I don't know which sister married Mr. Brown.) Thank you, Karen Foster Montgomery

Hello List, I am new to this list. It is passed in our family history that my great grandmother, Frankie Lilly Milam married my great grandfather Lonzo or Alonzo or Lon Davis in Bartow, Polk Co, FL on 06 June 1906. Frankie had relatives living in Bartow at the time by the name of Lewis and Sadie Milam. Their daughter, Eva married Frank Anderson. Can anyone do a look up for me on the 1900 census for Polk county and see if Frankie is living with Frank Anderson family? Also, do a look up for a marriage license for Frankie L. Milam to Lon (or Lonzo or Alonzo) Davis on 06 June 1906? I would be forever grateful. I live in Peoria, IL. IF I can help anyone out there, please let me know. Happy Hunting!! Debby Davis Lantz

I am looking for descendants of Annie Johnston, daughter of William George Johnston and Jane (Jean) Clark(e). She had 5 brothers & 1 sister- William, Margaret, Andrew, David (my ggf), James and George. Annie married a man, no info, and had 1 daughter, Jean. Jean married a man whose surname is GROVES. My guess is that Jean would be in her 80's, as I think she is close in age to my gfather. Any info would be great. TKS! Stacey Johnston Eastern Townships, Quebec, Canada

Does anyone have info on Gordon Zebendon of Polk Co. Fl. for the years of 1910-1930 or so. He was a Sheriff's deputy for the polk co. dept and was injured in a laor strike in 1919 at or near old Tiger Bay out of Ft. Meade. I found that in the 1910 census of Polk Co he was listed in precinct 10 other than town ) with wife Minnie her two daughters, Myrtle Ellerbe and Donnie Ellerbe and her son Clarence Ellerbe. Minnie is my G Grandmother and she divorced John Ellerbe sometime around 1905/06. No one in the family still living remembers her marrying a Zebendon. Did Gordon die from the injuries when he was shot in the labor fracas. Minnie did later remarry a J.T. Knowles and divorced him in the 20's. One son was born to this marriage, J. C. Knowles and he died young before marriage. Minnie was Minnie Lee Murray before marrying John Alexander Ellerbe around 1888/89. Her parents were Nancy and William Murray and they lived in Tampa moving there abt. 1887 from Hamilton Co. Fl. Nancy was still living in Tampa in the 1900 census with a son Eddie. Any help will be appreciated. Denton Cash, Wauchula Fl.
