    3. Hi Abby, Do you have an approximate date of when Dr. Pigg was in Kissimmee? I don't remember ever seeing his name in anything that I have read on Kissimmee but I will watch for it in the future. 3. Thanks to the List I was able to find her on the SSDI. Now, I would like to ask if there is anyone who would do a look up in the local newspaper for her obituary?? She was born 10 May 1891 and she died in November 1983 in Naples, Collier County, Florida. She lived at 975 - 6th Street, Naples, Fl. I wrote there and was advised that the house had been razed and condominiums built on the site. Any way I can look this up myself through Rootsweb? I went into Rootsweb but could find very little on Collier County. I believe she was born in Texas and would hope that the obituary might confirm this and give clues as to relatives, etc. Thanks for any help you can give. Beverly

    1. 1935 State Census
    2. Judy Usher
    3. I know there is no index for the 1935 FL State census. My question is this - if I know the street address of my family in Miami in 1935, will I be able to find them in the Dade County section in 2 or 3 hours (instead of 2 or 3 days)? Is there a state census for 1915 and 1925 and ditto about knowing family's address? Thanks for any information. Judy

    3. Judy, According to Ann S. Lainhart's STATE CENSUS RECORDS, no original (state census) records for 1905, 1915, or 1925 have been found. Sorry, I don't have an answer for your questions about ease of locating family if you have street address. Kathleen Marsh kmarsh@innet.com

    1. Genealogy scam-a message from a friend
    2. If you get an advertisement from someone by the name of Bonnie Mansfield, 430 #1 Rick Court, Ridgecrest, CA 93555, offering to sell you "never before published information" on family histories and DAR records for ONLY $25.00 - don't bite! I did and I am so angry at myself I could scream. I'm not usually one to fall for scams, but believe me I bit on this one hook, line, and sinker! What I got for my 25 bucks was 2 folders with hand written sheets giving me last names, book numbers, and in some cases page numbers. BUT, if you want to see what information is in each of those "histories" you have to send an additional $3 to a different person. Oh well, serves me right - I know better than to trust everything I hear and read. You might pass this info on to everyone you know. She got my $25, but I don't want her to get anyone elses.

I'd appreciate any help that comes my way. > Thanks, > Kevin O'Brien > Laguna Hills, CA > Hi Kevin, Zephyrhills is in the southeastern part of Pasco County which is just North of both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. The greater Zephyrhills area is the Winter resort for a large number of visitors from the colder northern states and Canada. The local population near triples in the Winter. The bulk of the local population is retiree as well. There are many trailer parks in the area which is implied by "#8 Park Drive". The area has two large local newspapers the Tampa Tribune and the Saint Petersburg Times. There are two small local newspapers the Zephyrhills News and the Zephyrhills Sun (part of Pasco News). If there were obituaries, then the larger papers would be the best choice for searching. However, there is a fee for posting the obituary which often limits coverage. The West Coast Crematory is not listed in the Zephyrhills phone book, but five others are listed. Correct there is no Stephen Carle in the phone book. I might suggest that you try to obtain a death certificate for the Florida Department of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville, FL. It might identify a local funeral home director and one who provide information about Lenore. Clearwater is the county seat of Pinellas County and well over an hours drive away. I hope this information helps, Tom Santa Cruz Zephyrhills, FL

    2. HI KEVIN, Let's see if we can come up with a few avenues for you. ZEPHYRHILLS ATTORNEYS Hodges & Carle 813-782-7196 38410 North Ave Zephyrhills, FL Carle, Stephen D - Hodges & Carle 813-782-7196 38410 North Ave Zephyrhills, FL and, as for the crematory, since you didn't give an address of the old company, I would call these people and start my questioning...maybe, they know who bought the other company : National Cremation Society 727-536-0494 4945 E Bay Dr Clearwater, FL Good luck, Karen in Texas PS. Even if the cemetery has changed hands, sometimes they've kept the files and will have copy of obit. The attorney who handled her affairs was named Stephen Carle 518 18th Street, Zephyrhills, FL . He is no longer listed.
