    3. Okay all of you history experts I have a question for you. I found a circa 1912 profile/interview of a cousin, William Lafayette Jerkins, in which he said that his great grandfather (and my gggg grandfather) Zachariah Jerkins (also frequently listed as Judkins) had founded the first stage coach line between Tallahassee, FL and Tuscaloosa, AL. This would have been sometime in the late 1820's to around 1837. Zachariah was in Tallahassee by 1827, and he did travel several time back and froth to Dale County, Al. Also, Tuscaloosa was the I am looking for recommendations on how to pursue evidence as to whether or not this piece of family folklore is true or not. Suggestions? Ideas? Jack Butler

    3. When this bill was before the Florida Legislature there was more pressure from the agency keeping the records and adoptive parents than from genealogists so the bill passed the Legislature. It will be necessary for enough Genealogy Societies and individual voters in Florida to pressure their Senators and Representatives to get the law changed. It can be done, but it takes a real effort. Not surprisingly, the rules vary from state to state. For example, in Connecticut, all records of vital statistics, including births, are open for research to any member of a legally incorporated genealogy society. > >Not looking for a reply.
