Emanuel Henry Martin , my ggggrandfather came to the area near Fort McCoy in around 1827 and had his baby killed by a Seminole arrow, him and his wife Mary Geiger Martin went back home to Bryan County, Ga. They came back in around 1832 and settled near a place called Pine back then, before it was Marion County. He went on to be a Road Commissioner and I believe a County Commissioner before he died in around 1852. My grandfather married Mary Jane McDermitt who was born in Summerfield around 1895. Her mother Mary Jane Shaw died shortly after giving birth. Frank McDermitt was the father and later remarried and had three children, one who took over the farm in Summerfield until he died in the 1970's. His family still live on a what is left of the old farm. I am out of time. Rick Bullock, Sarasota, Fl --------------E9A9E249418663167BE3149E--
