John Goskie in 1846 in Marion County). She was born in Florida about 1820. I believe that Margaret Tucker (m. William Owen Simmons) and Louisa Tucker (m. Nathaniel Ellis) may be her sisters. At the time of the 1850 Census, all three sisters were living near each other in that part of Alachua County that became Marion County. In 1860, Margaret and her husband were still at the original location. Jane and her family had removed to Ocala, Marion County. Louisa Tucker Ellis was living with Jane's family. By 1870, the Goskies had removed to Illinois and Missouri. I believe that Jane is probably descended from Willoughby Tucker of Georgia, although I can't pinpoint her descent. All Census records say that she was born in Florida; Willoughby's sons were among the first to move into Florida from Georgia, settling there while the area was still in Spanish hands. If Margaret, Louisa, or Jane could be connected ! to a parent I believe this would help complete the line of descent. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Survivors include three stepsons and a stepdaughter (they were listed by name; plus he had 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. The only info that Roberts Funeral Home had was that Matilda Bye was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. This information provided by a Marion County Genealogical Society volunteer.
