Surnames: Coleman, Howard Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gZ.2ADI/264 Message Board Post: I would appreciate any help with my husband's grandparents. James J. Coleman b.Nov. 1860, Dooly County, Georgia married Judith Howard b. Oct. 11, 1881,m. June 15, 1898, Buckingham, Lee County Florida. She was the daughter of Thomas and Hortense Howard. According to the family Bible, J.J. Coleman died Jan. 9, 1911. She died Feb. 3, 1946. I believe serveral of the Howard's are buried at Ft. Denaud Cemetery including Juda/Judith Coleman. I have not been able to find anything of J.J. Coleman. They had four children, M. H.(Marion) Coleman, P.L.(Lubbard)Coleman, L.F.(Lewis) Coleman and T. (Tencie) Arletha Coleman and Curtis Henry Coleman. Where would I look for obituaries? Thank you.
See http://www.lamartin.com/genealogy/blount.htm Go to Number 99. You may already be aware of this, but Judith Howard Coleman has a proven line back to Capt. James Blount, immigrant ancestor of the NC Blounts, and far back into England. Also, much has been written on her paternal grandfather, Seth Howard.
