"Snag" went to school with my mom, Pauline Davis, and he was an assistant scoutmaster in the Boy Scout troop I was in. His son Tommy and I went through school together. But I thought his real name was Flanders, not Flanding. If it wasn't his real name, I'm pretty sure that it was Flanders that he was called when it wasn't "Snag"... at least it was by mom. I don't think that he was in exactly the same class as mom, but in those days Fort Myers schools were so small things like that were hardly noticeable. If I went through mom's high school year books I'm pretty sure that there would be photos of him and I imagine that I might have some in my scouting photos. He didn't participate in scouting all that much, but once a year he took us camping at his hunting camp, which if I recall right was in Collier County. Once, when a hurricane came in unexpectedly, he sent his deputies out to Ten Mile Canal to roust us in the middle of the night and take us home in their patrol cars.
