He was the Sheriff for quite awhile as I recall. One of the things that stands out in my mind, is that they had the only fallout shelter in Lee Co. at their house. Now, I think the homeowners turned it into a game room. He was an old school lawman and kept things under control in his own way. May not have been the proper way but it worked. Our town was a pretty safe place to be.
