Cemetery Database Available on the Internet TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 11, 1998--Florida's Task Force on Abandoned and Neglected Cemeteries has made its cemetery database available on the World Wide Web. Users can log onto the site at www.dbf.state.fl.us/cemeteries and search by county to find information on the condition of 1,700 cemeteries throughout the state. They can also submit reports to the database by using an interactive form. The task force was created by the 1998 Florida Legislature, under the auspices of the Department of Banking and Finance (DBF), to determine the extent of the cemetery problem and recommend legislation to address it. The task force is seeking information from the public concerning specific cemeteries needing attention, as well as suggestions on how to alleviate the problem.
