Bobby: This is what I found on David Johnson of Emanuel Co. GA. Emanuel County, Georgia. DAVID JOHNSON alleges that HUGH McLANE took MIKE, a slave belonging to the petitioner, without JOHNSON's consent or knowledge. McLANE then forced Mike "to go upon a raft on the big river which raft sunk and plunged" MIKE into the cold waters. McLANE compelled MIKE to stay in the water searching for a lost canoe. The lengthy sojourn in the water resulted in MIKE becoming ill and being unable to work for JOHNSON for the space of two months.
