    3. Deanna, Does that book have the Confederates who lost their lives during that battle? My ancestry Thomas J Land died on Sept 27, 1864 during the Battle of Marianna (according to military records) supposedly on the Jackson Co. Courthouse steps (this part from a family member). I would love anything on him or his brothers: Henry G. Land, Stephen W. Land, James C Land, John/Jehu R. Land (Jehu was often spelled wrong in his military records) and Benjamin F. Land. They all fought for Florida during the Civil War (Confederate Side). Thomas J Land, the one who passed during the battle, military records show as follows: "Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 13 March 1863. Substitute Company E, 2nd Cavalry Regiment Florida on 13 Mar 1863. Transferred into Company E, 5th Battn Cavalry Regiment Florida on 21 Sep 1863. Promoted to Full Sergeant (As of Co. E 5th Battn FL Cavalry) on 21 Sep 1863. Transferred out of Company E, 2nd Cavalry Regiment Florida on 21 Sep 1863. Killed Company E, 5th Battn Cavalry Regiment Florida on 27 Sep 1864 at Marianna, FL." Anyway if you or anyone else for that matter might have any information about the Land Family during the Battle of Marianna I would appreciate any leads / advise or help you may be able to offer. Karen Kimmons-Johnson karenjohn@cfl.rr.com One copy of the book is at the State Library of Florida in Tallahassee. I'm not sure if it can be checked out or if it is a reference book. I am going there tomorrow, do you want me to look something up?
