For whatever reason this is not in the Tallahassee Democrat online edition and in the newsprint hard copy version it is page two news (Memorial Day being over so I guess, vets again... ho hum...) but Congressman Allen Boyd has announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will build a new VAOPC (outpatient medical facility) in Marianna. Of course that is great news for military veterans in and around Jackson, Calhoun, Washington, counties in Florida and also LA (Lower Alabama), but it also will help veterans around Tallahassee and South Georgia by relieving some of the pressure on the Tallahassee VAOPC.
