What I meant when I said "depressed" city was that Chattahoochee has a lot of businessess on the main street closed and only a few remaining open. When you look at the pictures from the book that Mr. Turnage wrote many years ago, you will notice a thriving area. Now, it has many storefronts closed. That is what I meant. I do apologize for the misconceptions. I have since unsubscribed from this forum as I don't believe that I would get the necessary help when requested because of this incident. I hope that all of you continue on your search and wish you the best in your endeavors. Did you not read that part of her message? I too have family living there and buried there. Nothing offensive was said. Besides, Chattahoochee is tiny and has little to offer in Genealogy. I doubt they have a local internet provider either. How unfair these comments were to a newcomer on OUR list.
