I think I may have called this by the wrong name...perhaps it was a rolling store. My mother grew up in Marianna. She remembers after WW II when she was a small child viewing movies from a truck on the street. The peddler would set up chairs on the street and hang a make shift screen out of a sheet or something similar. She said they would have intermissions several times during the movie to sell items. I was hoping someone else might remember or has heard of this. Or perhaps knows the name of individuals that may have had rolling stores in the area during this time. Deanna, I am from the ROLLING STORE DAYS. The Malloys of Marianna AND the Wildwood community. Dallas, Hershel, and their younger brother (? Don’t remember his name) all had rolling stores at one time or other. They are the same Malloys who own the Gladiola farms south of Marianna out by I-10. What you are talking about was just in town of Marianna probably because I never saw anything like that in the country. I have lived in the area since 1929! Hi, Back in the 1970s Will Peacock of Marianna gave me some information about the Henderson family, including a comment about Charley F. Henderson. (Charley was a son of John Bryant Henderson, who died in Jackson Co. in 1911). Will said that Charley was killed in a gun fight while a deputy sheriff in 1913 in Jackson County. Does anyone have any information about Charley and this episode? I would love to find a picture of him if one exists. Any information about this man or his family would be appreciated. Sue
