Across the river in Georgia lived Parramores. By 1800 there were a lot of Parramores. John the immigrant arrived in Jamestown Va. 1622 on the Bon Venture. He went to the Eastern Shore, Northampton and Accomac Cos. Va and then into Somerset Co. Md. There is a barrier island off the coast of Va. named Parramore. The community may be named for perhaps Matthew Parramore's family who lived in the Early/Decatur Co. Ga. area. I descend through his daughter, who married Thomas Fain. Hopefully someone knows for sure about the community of Parramore and how it got it's name. Melba
