Greetings, I have had a number of requests that I post a message on the list when my new book, "The Battle of Natural Bridge," was available. It is available. For those who might not be aware, the Battle of Natural Bridge was fought in March 1865 along the St. Marks River south of Tallahassee. The Confederate victory there left Tallahassee as the only Confederate capital east of the Mississippi not taken by Federal troops. A number of soldiers from Jackson County took part in the battle, along with men and boys from Gadsden, Leon, Madison, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. A number of men from the area also fought on the Union side, as did two full regiments of African American troops.
