Looking for info on two Yerby/Yearby brothers, George and William, and their descendants who came from Thomas Co. GA to Holmes Co. FL sometime between 1840 and 1850. George Yerby, b. 1790's, wife may have been Hannah Lennon. His children were: Sarah Jane Yerby, b. 1816, m. John L. McCroan, Jr. on Jan. 2, 1833 in Thomas Co. GA. Nancy Yerby, b. 1825, m. Thomas Tobias Brooke in 1844 in Thomas Co. GA. There also were three sons, names and dates unknown. William Yerby, b. abt 1800, m. (1) wife unknown (2) Abigail Goodwin on Jan. 22, 1845 in Decatur Co. GA His children were: James Yerby, b. 1826/27 in GA Washington Yerby, b. 1840, GA. m. Estir Smith. Elisra (?) Yerby, b. 1845 in GA or FL. I would like to correspond with anyone having info about these families, especially descendants of George or William Yerby.
