Example: I lived in Bay Co, FL and wanted to get married when I was 19. I needed my parents permission because the legal age to marry in FL was 21. My mother would not give her permission. Even though I had been living on my own and working and supporting myself for two years, I still needed permission. So I went to Geneva, AL and got married.
