Greetings, I am searching for families descending from ancestors who served with Andrew Jackson during the First Seminole War and then located to the Jackson County area in the years following. The story has often been told that members of Jackson's army were impressed with the area as they passed through on their march to Pensacola in 1818 and came back to build homes there after Florida became part of the United States.
