<<Anything on Majette, FL ? This is or was a small mill village near Millville, FL, now absorbed within Panama City, Bay Co., FL.>> No, Don I do not find Majette listed in Bay Co, Fla. The only name close was Murfee - 6 miles west of Vicksburg on Hy. 388 at Burnt Mill Creek. Sorry, Glenda. To James and all others, Yes, James is correct when he stated there are usually no building to be found in Fla's "Ghost Towns". For those of you who are not familiar with this climate an abandoned wooden building will not last very long and the most you would probably find would be piling or some foundations if that. Those found today in the west are probably still standing because of the drier climate. However, if in searching for relatives past, having the forgotten names of communties, mill towns, post offices and etc, would be good to have at least known where these places existed. James Warnke was a noted author of books on Fla. But as I said before I personally cannot verify his findings. I am sure there are many more "places" in Fla that were not listed, past and present. My offer still stands, if anyone would like those "towns" for other counties, pls let me know. Glenda.
