Hi everyone! Does anyone have any information on the schools in Jackson County, FL in 1840? According to the 1840 Jackson County, FL census Mrs Whichard's household consisted of: male 5-10 one, female 5-10 two, female 20-30 one, total four, acadamies & grammer schools one, no. of scholars 25, no. of white persons over 20 who cant read or write 9 Wouldn't this indicate that she was holding school in her house?
