Hi all! Both my grandparents (Ruby Messer...descended from Bryant and Marthe Messer) and Van ("Vannie") Kirkland (I think his grandfather/gr. Grandfather?) was Green Berry Kirkland)were originally from Dellwood area...they lived in Jacksonville for many years but are now buried back in Dellwood at the Baptist Church (along with my Dad - George Van Buren Kirkland - who died during Hurricane Katrina).I am unsure of some of this as I don't have my notes in front of me and have only been to Dellwood a couple of times in my life (I am now 56...yikes!) and I live in the Northern VA area. My aunt, Alice Kirkland Waters, has been active for many years in the cleanup of the Messer (Kirkland?) cemetery. I cant remember how I came upon this email list but am glad to have all this contact info....I am trying to do additional research and document ancestry on Messers and Kirklands. Any additional pointers or info I can get from you all is much appreciated!!
