I appreciate those people who sent me messages. I am sorry that I will not be able to stay on this forum as it just isn't what I was looking for. I will, however, continue to work as a genealogist in these areas (Jackson, Decatur, Gadsden, Leon, etc.) Should you need my help, you are welcome to email me privately. Thank you for your time. I took what was said about Chattahoochee in the tone in which it was sent - as a joke. I grew up in Marianna and Cottondale and would joke about those small towns quickly. I used to be embarrassed to be from those locations because of all the Deeply Southern, small town, mentality that my "big city" friends perceived. Then I happened to live in a town that had more rednecks per capita than all of Jackson County. One thing about this area, two brothers might fight all day but sit down and enjoy dinner together. What I mean is that emotions run deep and connections are most important. This list feels almost like a family sometimes. Occasionally we disagree, yet we all seem to help each other. I've always felt this is the best discussion list and our Jackson County web site sets the standard by which all others try to emulate. I post questions and readers are quick to respond with wonderful assistance! Now I find myself being quite protective of our group, web site, and this panhandle of Florida that I call home.
