    3. Betty, Under Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery No. 2--Dothan to Pilgrim's Rest Cem-- are the exact directions I sent on Sat. to LIZGERLITS@aol.com. Those are directions to the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Jackson Co. FL, which I assumed she wanted, since she wrote to the Jackson Co. List. It appears to me that you have directions to two different cemeteries in the No. 2 item. Those are not the people buried in the Jackson Co. Pilgrims Rest. Cynthia

    1. Re:Hugh SPEARS
    2. Were Hugh SPEARS and John SPEARS listed in the 1840 Jackson Co. Census related? Hugh married Rebecca DAVIS, dau of John T. DAVIS, Nov. 12, 1846 and they had one son, William S. SPEARS. According to family records, Hugh, was born 1805 in NC, but I have nothing to connect Hugh and John SPEARS born abt. 1809 in GA., parents unknown. John married Malinda GRIFFIN, father believed to be John GRIFFIN. John and Malinda married about 1834, place unknown. Hugh's father was William SPEARS, Sr. Were these men related to the Jasper Co., Spears families? Will greatly appreciate any help. Pat Spears Havana, FL

    3. Greetings: Can anyone tell me how far back marriage certificates go in the Washington County Courthouse. I'm looking for a few marriages between 1840-1880. Also, is there a particular person I would contact there to obtain copies of these documents? Thanks in advance for any help, comments, guidance, etc. Martin de Vore mddevore@neosoft.com Humble, Texas

Washington is one of those "burned" counties (I believe). I recently purchased the roll of film (in hopes of getting them all typed and online). The roll had to be returned (it was a horrible copy). As soon as I receive a readable, replacement roll we'll need volunteers to help type these!! Hope this helps. Cindy
