Beverly... Apparently a Francis (sic) Tharp was a daughter or granddaughter of my 2-great grandfather John Shepard Haven's second wife, Lidey Huskey, or Lida Hester, and was married to Rufus H. Tharp, Sr. If you run across any of these folks in your searching... please let me know. Unfortunately, I cannot contribute anything to answering your questions... I see alot of cemeteries in Decatur that havent been surveyed, and was wondering if maybe someone has something on those that havent been surveyed..Thank you, Best Regards, Shirley PS,I am hoping to go to Decaure for a few weeks this summer, and am going to seach like crazy, and try to survey as much as I can
I am not related to the Daffins. My grandmother Annie Mae Sullivan Kittrell worked there. I have fond memories of shopping there for "school clothes" and a velvet dress for the Christmas holidays. Pam Smith
The Daffins from Marianna are all related. When they came to Fl, they were pursuing various business interests, one of which was the Daffin merchantile business. I haven't found one in Jackson Co. yet that isn't related. They are all descendants of George Daffin of MD. So far I've found over 700 descendants and spouses and I keep finding more. Are you related somehow? Leo C.Daffin and Mabel Green (my aunt) Daffin had the Daffin Style Shop in Chattahoochee. They were related to the ones in Panama City. Cynthia
Is this the Daffin family connected with the former department store? Pam Smith
