    3. I don't know much about the Pates. I've heard rumor for years Benjamin Pate was the father of Mary Woodell/Woodall's children but haven't had proof. Someone sent me a copy of Rhoda Missouri Woodall Faircloth's death certificate which stated Benjamin Pate was her father and Polly Woodall was her mother. I already knew Mary Woodell/Woodall was Rhoda's mother. I had proof of their relationship from census. It seems that Benjamin and Mary were not married so there is no marriage certificate. They both knew each other in Robeson County, North Carolina. Ben moved to Dale County which became Geneva Co. before Mary. He was there in 1850 and she showed up in the 1860. She was still in Robeson County, NC during the 1850 in her parents home. My great great grandfather was Rhoda's only son Calvin. He was Rhoda's brother and lived near the East Mt. Zion Poplar Springs area of Holmes County. My husband's descends from Rhoda Woodall Faircloth, her daughter Sally who married John Wesley Miller, their daughter Katie is my husband's mother. The Faircloths are Rhoda Missouri Woodall married Elbert Faircloth. They had a daughter Sally who married John Wesley Miller. They had a daughter Katie Miller who married Jeral B. Smith who are my husband's parents . --- Wanda J Lartz <heartsongwv@direcway.com> wrote: > Hi Janice--My g grandmother was Amy Jane Pate born > 1864, she was married to > James William Swindle, and she was the daughter of > Amy Yates. > My g grandmother on my mothers side was Lydia > Faircloth born 1859 She was > married to William Levine Taylor born 1863.
