Max, In the 1860 Washington Co. census, the family next to James Yates was Ella Levins 40 GA, with wife Harriett 40 GA. They had a girl named Amy 11 FL and a boy named Gatsey 6 AL. Seems to me that Ella must have been related to or an in-law of James Yates. Do you know? Do you know who James's wife Melinda was? Duke Vickrey
Duke, The first Levins/Leavins/etc.. and Yates marriage I am aware of, took place between Levi Yates, s/o Gadi Yates, and Catherine "Katie" Leavins, d/o Richmond Leavins, in 1879/FL. Levi and Katie are buried at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cem., in Washington Co., FL. The Leavins/Levins Families of early Holmes Co., FL. are of interest to me, but not my direct line. I would, however, like to eventually have those (different/same?) family lines put together.
