    3. Max, I don't think the French girls were siblings. Lydia was the daughter of Robert Emanual French (b. bet. 1784-1794 and d. 1829) and Elizabeth Leavins (b. 1798 and d. 1879). They had three children that I am aware of: Candace (b. 3/15/1820) Lydia (b. 10/2/1823) and Michael (b. 1828). Does anyone have any different information? Obituary: undated newspaper in 1940 "John D. Faircloth, 79, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Wesley Miller, in the Bethlehem community, on Thursday morning, following a long illness. Burial was at Union Hill cemetery Friday morning. Rev. ???stead conducted the funeral services and Holman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The pallbearers were selected from the many nephews and grandsons of the deceased. The survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Maggie Smith, of Slocomb, Alabama, and one son, Elijah Faircloth, of Holmes County. There also survive sisters: Mrs. D. J. Paul, Bonifay; and Mrs. Lizzie French, now resident northwest of Bonifay. There survive many more distant relatives belonging to this pioneer family. John D. Faircloth was born in Holmes County in 1861, the son of Abraham Faircloth, who came to Holmes County in 1846.
