The books will continue to deteriorate even further from extensive physical abuse from pulling old tape and checkout slips off of the books. As a result, the life span of these books will be far less than their present environment. 6. The books cannot be available at least for another two years because it is physically impossible to process them so quickly, therefore InterLibrary Loan will not exist at least for two years or more. 7. All the books will be reclassified from Dewey to LC, which could also involve years of staff time. 8. Many of the books have been donated by citizens from all over the U S., and they will become extremely upset if they find out their donation was sent to a private library. 9. We can check out books in Tallahassee, but will NOT be able to do so in Broward. We will be limited to Inter-Library Loan, which could be another two years. 10. Many of the older books are used by graduate students or specialized researchers, even if they are NOT checked out. They use them on site. The older books are still valuable because their content is used for research and opinions from another time period. If any of you can add to this list, or disagree with me, please let me know.
