A lifelong resident of Tampa, he was retired from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force and member of the U.S. Air Force Sergeants' Association and the Northgate Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, William H. Jr. of Tampa and Charles Lee of Land O' Lakes; a daughter, Nettie Grace Brown of Sebring; four step-children; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
