A native of Tampa, he was retired from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. He was an Army Air Force veteran, of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He attained the rank of senior master sergeant. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and of Northgate Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, William H. ""Bill'' Jr., Tampa, and Charles Lee, Land O'Lakes; a daughter, Nettie Grace Brown, Sebring; four step-children; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
