Born on Sept. 23, 1908, in Lima, to Elvin Otto and Vern Edith (Barton) McPheron, she was married to Ellsworth Bruce Springer on Dec. 25, 1926, in New Washington. Mrs. Springer is survived by her daughter, June Lavon Biddinger of Cleburne, Texas; two sons Robert L. Springer of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., and Everett C. Springer of Plant City, Fla; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Lois Young, 93, of Gainesville, Fla. Grace was preceded in death by a still-born son in 1936; her father in 1963; a sister, Elsie Mae McPheron in 1967; her mother in 1980; her husband in 1982; her son-in-law, H. Clay Biddinger in 2002; and a son, Jay Elvin Springer in 2004. She was blessed with remarkably good health for nearly 97 1/2 years and was an active member of New Washington United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Her unique giggle was a joy to all, and she was admired for her hard work as a homemaker, farm partner, gardener, community volunteer, and Ohio Genealogical Society member of both the Allen County and Crawford County chapters. Until her death, she enjoyed playing solitaire and corresponded in beautiful handwriting with many friends and relatives. Grace requested that there be no funeral or memorial service. She chose to be cremated and have her ashes buried beside her husband's in the Union Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. Donations may be made in her memory to New Washington United Methodist Church, Lifepath Hospice, the American Heart Association, or a charity of one's choice. Copyright (c) Telegraph-Forum.
