This may have been the case with your parents. They both were single, your father was in the Army and was transferred overseas. Your mother, being pregnant, young, single, etc., felt she could not properly care for a child. Also, your father may have been killed in the war. That's another possibility as to why you were given up for adoption. You may want to contact a local agency who helps people locate their adoption records. They are very skilled at what they do.
