The article reads that Gracie was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Freed. The article doesn't give the names of the parents and Gracie wouldn't have been an only child unless Fanny had died some time before. My request is for information on Fanny. If I can find out that she had died then I would feel more comfortable knowing that the article is defineately related to the right family. I also would like to know what happened to their mother, Julia. I requested the death certificate on Gracie, but it came back...unable to locate. I would love to know what happened to Fanny and her mother. ******************** Well, I was just about to post about the May 23, 1889 article in the Tampa Journal about the death of a Gracie Freed (of the right age), when I suddenly noticed that you were the one who had uploaded that article to Ancestry! I guess I'm puzzled by why you would say that the trail stopped in 1878 when you've got two 1880 census records and an 1889 newspaper article. When you post a query, it's always most helpful to others if you can indicate which documents you have already seen, so that others won't spend time looking for them.
