I have some great great grandparents buried along with two of their children in the Robles Family Cemetery on Sligh Avenue. I heard from someone that when they were there years ago it was very rundown and many stones were cracked. I was wondering if it has been fixed up any? Is it on private property? If it is accessible I would be willing to pay for costs if someone in that area could take pictures, or know if there are pictures already? I doubt I will get there myself. I heard it was once very pretty. There are only 22 people buried there of the Robles, Murphy, Bourguardez, and maybe Morris. I never like to ask someone to do anything, and when I do I always pay. It would mean a lot, though I fear I would be sad to see it now. Thanks, Sydney Cardner (the Sydney is female)
Sydney, What part of Sligh Avenue? I'm trying to picture where this is, but can't for the life of me. Sligh Ave starts at Hwy 301 and then goes west from there with several breaks in continuity. If you could give me an approximate location or some kind of cross street, I'd be happy to try and find it and get pictures for you. I might even be able to get some video shots with commentary in case the names aren't legible on the pics but I could read them in person. Let me know and I'll try and get to it in the next week or so. I homeschool my kids and this would probably make a pretty good fieldtrip in Tampa history. LOL!
