In the Tampa Tribune "Death Notices" are free, public notices and contain only the basic information on a person's death, these notices are NOT placed by families. Obituaries and Funeral Notices are placed by individuals and are a paid service. The Tampa Tribune carries Death Notices for Hillsborough County (and some surrounding counties). The free Death Notices which appear in the St Pete Times appear in the Tampa-section of the Times and come from the same source as the Tampa Tribune Death Notices. Ruskin is in Hillsborough County, the Trib would be the first place to look. Ruskin is also the location of "Sun City", which is a very large, organized Senior community and if they have a newspaper then that may be a source of further information. All that said I want to add an obvious point. Misspelling of names. The Trib has misspelled my family names, unidentifiably. I suggest you use Trails and search for just the first initial of the last name, then peruse all the names it offers. That's the way I found one of my relatives -- I'm a native of Hillsborough County and so was the relative. Lastly. Trails uses the heading "Obits" as the major reference to all death reports and then from that heading you'll find references to published death notices, funeral notices and actual obituaries, where they exist. All the death notices that were published in the Trib should be available in Trails.
