F. T. Blount on Nebraska Ave. was purchased by SCI's competition, Stuart, and is Stuart's main Hillsborough County location. Stuart also bought out, over a period of years, Garden of Memories and Myrtle Hill Cemeteries, Roel &Curry, Curry and Sons, A.P. Boza (2 locations)and J. L. Reed Funeral Homes. The J L Reed and Boza(Armenia Ave) facilities are closed now. Both of these had records dating back to turn of the century. The rest of these facilities now carry the name "Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes". SCI corporation purchased Duval, Marsicano, Stowers, B.Marion Reed, Hillsborough Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery. Duval was closed and records transfered to Hillsborough Memorial. B. Marion Reed closed and records are now kept at Marsicano. Hope this is of some help to anyone searching for old funeral home records.
