Another account states-"Martin D. and Catherine E.Patterson settled on a homestead on what later became known as Patterson Road,Keystone Park. Patterson Road ran north from Tampa Shores Road, now known as Race Track Road. Boy scout Road somewhat paralleled Patterson Rd. but started near Keystone church, veering slightly west until it ran almost into Patterson Road, where they both ended at Tarpon Springs-Lake Fern Road". We have been unable to locate a death certificate. From: 1885 Community profiles, Hillsborough County, Florida 1885: KEYSTONE PARK is situated on the mail route from Tampa to TarponSprings. Fare to Tampa, $1.50; to Cedar Keys, $4. It derives its name fromthe fact that many of the settlers are from the Keystone State. Railroadprospects are very favorable, so that fast trasportation is a matter of thenear future. Keystone Lake, the largest in this vicinity is 4 1/2 mileslong by 1/2 mile in width, and is in the shape of a boat. There is an M. E.Church here, and a common school. Among the owners of noted orange grovesare Rev. Jason Grant, Messrs. R. T. Youngblood, M. D. Patterson and C. A.Nicholson. The settlers are whites, from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan, are well-to-do and industrious. He is also mentioned in the Suncoast News (1978) " History of Keystone,Odessa and Citrus Park" by the Keystone,Odessa,Citrus Park Historical Society"; http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/2626/history3and4.html and more recently in a exhibition by the Tampa Bay History Center and Hillsborough County "Neighborhoods;Keepers of the Culture";(excerpt) Keystone (Keystone Park Colony) ..."One of the earliest known settlers was Martin Derious Patterson..." This info on his sister was recently posted to the list by Grace Patterson; Anzy Jane Patterson married Lawrence P. Kettles 23 December 1857 in Hillsborough County, Florida. Anzy was born about December 1842 probably Benton County, Florida. She had a brother named Martin D. Patterson who was said to have been born in Micanopy, Florida about 1845 - 1847. Lawrence P. Kettles is believed to have died in the Civil War and Anzy married 2nd to Doctor Roberson or Robinson Dunn about 1875. Anzy was living next door to Doctor Dunn and his first wife, Sarah, in the 1870 Alachua County, Florida census. I don't know what happened to his first wife but he and Anzy were living in Marion County, Florida in the 1880 census. Anzy had at least one child by Lawrence P. Kettles and her name was Mary Ella born about 1864. The children by Doctor Dunn were Janette Nettie Dunn born March 1876 died 1940 buried Ft. Ogden Cem., Desoto County, Florida married Eugene A. Tyner son of Josiah A. Tyner. California Callie Dunn born July 1879 may have married R. J. Tomkins in Alachua County, Florida. Viola Dunn born April 1882 may have married the brother of Eugene A. Tyner. Doctor Sinclair Dunn born 7 November 1886 died 11 May 1970 buried Ft. Ogden Cem., Desoto County, Florida never married was a Barber in Arcadia, Florida. Doctor Robinson Dunn was the son of Calvin Dunn of Barnwell County, South Carolina. We have the family from Martin to present and would love to exchange info if there appears to be a possible connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are in Louisiana and cannot travel to Florida.
