    3. I am researching William Henry Sloan b. April 3, 1886 and his wife Lillie Delora Cain b. March 2, 1882. Uncle "Willie" and Aunt Lille are my great aunt and uncle and they lived in Plant City. Uncle Willie died there in Nov. 11, 1973 and Aunt Lille died there Oct. 30, 1970. They are both buried in Memorial Park Cem. My Sloans came from Statesboro, Bulloch Co., GA. They came to FL in the early 1900's first settling in Sampson City, Bradford Co., FL and then later moved to Plant City. There were very few Sloans in Bulloch Co., GA and those that were there were there in the very early 1800's. I feel sure that my Sloans are a small remnant of one of the earlier Sloan families, but I have no proof. Lillie Delora Cain was apparently born in Waldo, Alachua Co., FL., but I am not sure. She and Uncle Willie were married in Alachua Co. Known children of this couple are: Effie, Edith, Homer, Emory, Ellis, and Irma. There are many Sloans in Hillsborough Co., FL and I feel sure that my Sloans are somehow related to these other Sloans, but I have not been able to determine how. A lot of the Hillsborough Co. Sloans came from Jackson Co., FL and to my knowledge my Sloans were never in Jackson Co. There was also another William Henry Sloan living in Hillsborough Co. and I have to be careful and not get his and my Great Uncle Willie's info mixed up. Uncle Willie's parents were James "Jim" David Sloan and Emily "Emma" Brown of Statesboro, Bulloch Co., GA. They were married there. Known children of James and Emily are: William (called Willie), Alice (called Allie) and Melissa (called Missy). All children were born in or near Statesboro, Bulloch Co., GA. James David Sloan is said to be an orphan. I am told that he had several siblings, but I have never been able to find them. I was told that after James and his siblings were grown that one of his brothers came to visit him in "south Florida" only one time. They believed the brother's name was William, but no one in the family is sure. My Sloan family has been a mystery to me for many years and I am no further with this family than I ever was. If anyone on this list is related to or has any knowledge of my Sloan family or is willing to give me some research help in Hillsborough Co., then I sure would appreciate it. I live in Jacksonville and would be glad to give some help to anyone needing research help here.
