    3. My interest in the Simmons family in Hillsborough Co came about recently. My ancestor, Isaac Ward, from Dooly Co., Ga. married a Martha Simmons (b. possibly 1831 or 1834). I have been trying to ascertain who her parents were... possibly Lewis Simmons (who married Mary McLendon in Dec. 1829) or maybe Lacey J. Simmons (both of whom lived in Dooly Co, Ga). And, although I grew up in Hillsborough Co and didn't know it at the time, I find that a Lacey J. Simmons lived in the same area where others of my relatives, i.e. the David Ward family, lived in Sydney - Turkey Creek area. Some of my Ward relatives (David Lewis Ward, my G Grandfather, and Lucretia T. Rich Ward) are buried at Salem Cemetery and I understand some of the Simmons are buried at Turkey Creek. I know there is speculation from several areas as to who is Martha's father.... but I'm trying to determine for sure.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I plan to include the Simmons' and the Hutchinsons in my research. I think I remember an article in the Tampa Tribune about the Simmon genealoby. I probably clipped it. Finding it will be the problem. Rosa Lee
