    2. Sue, Thank you for being a member of Randon Acts of Genealogical Kindness and volunteering your time. I was wondering if by chance you know of a James T. Webb who married Cathy Llanes ? I also have a Clara Hiers who married a John W. Wells. Would these be your interests ? Sincerely, Grace Patterson

    3. Yes. James T. Webb is my brother. He is now Lt. Col. James T. Webb, but still my "little brother." I claim the rank of age. Jim married Cathy Llanes and they had two sons, (my nephews) Chad and Donovan. As Jim & Cathy were divorced, I got to keep them while Jim was learning to fly F-16s at MacDill AFB many years ago. I now have two great-neices, Alyssia Brook Webb and Winter Webb (Jim's granddaughters). Jim married Gail Kelly-Webb in the 1980s. Clara Vashti Hiers married John Washington Wells and they were the parents of many children, only three of whom survived, the last, their "surprise baby," in their late 40s, was June Ouida (Wells) (Mrs. Oscar Llanes). She is one of my dearest friends. She has given me a lot of the history and stories of early Palm River. She is now battling Alzheimer's disease and doesn't always remember a lot, so I'm grateful for the 30 yr friendship we had and the stories and notes I took. After Jim & Cathy divorced, Ouida and I stayed friends and I love her dearly. She taught me a lot about Cuban cooking. I did her Hiers line and made several trips to Walterboro, SC, finally found the Hiers book in Gainesville, FL (they have three). There are supposedly only 8 left floating around in the libraries, the rest are in private collections. We blew a bundle and just photocopied the book! The Wells line has been another matter. I take care of Ouida's aunt and uncle's graves at Limona. Her grandmother is supposedly buried there in a pauper's grave. The family remembers going there and outlining it with seashells, the way they used to do in the 1930s. Sheriff Walter Hiers was Ouida's uncle (her mother's brother), and many of the Hiers family were Deputy Sheriffs in Hillsborough County in the 20s & 30s. Ouida's parents rented one of his properties in the country and took care of his chicken farm. He liked Ouida best of all the kids because she always stuck her tongue out at him. He said it showed real "spunk" for a kid to do that, especially to an officer of the law. I stay in touch with Cathy's brothers, especially Javal, a computer whiz. How are you connected or related?
