    1. [FLHILLSB] Searching for early settlers of East Hillsborough Co., Fl.
    2. I am looking for families that homesteaded land or just lived in this area in the 1800's. What got me interested in this is that I learned that the Pratt Family homesteaded 80 acres in Brandon in the 1860's - where the Brandon Airport used to be. Some of the Pratts still live around there. I found this out when I submitted the name of Miss Sadie Pratt to be the name of one of the many schools being built in this area. She taught at Mango Elementary for, I believe, 30 consecutive years. I graduated from Mango Junior High from the 9th grade in 1953. Then graduated the 12th grade from Brandon High in 1956. My mother, Effie J. Clark Glass, wrote a history book about Mango. I have all the volumes except #10 of "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia". It would be good to have something like this for East Hillsborough Co. I have Hiers relatives in Tampa. If I can help with this let me know. Rosa Lee

    3. Rosa Lee, My dad, Lewis B. Hutchinson, was born in 1908 to Zenobia Ward and James Rabb Hutchinson on the property which later became part of the Brandon Airport. They were neighbors to "Grandma" Dora Pratt, Willie and Miss Sadie. No, they weren't related... we just "respectfully" called her "grandma". I graduated in 1952 from Brandon. Was just there for my 50th Reunion, which was attended by 46 classmates. Were Oliver and Marguerette your relatives? I agree with you about the"Wiregrass" books. They are wonderful, and it would be great to put together something even faintly resembling them. Best of luck to you, and if I can help, let me know.
