    3. I ordered a death certificate from 1927 and it had basically the same info on it as you see today. You just have to remember that the information contained on it is only as good as the person providing the information's memory is. <grin> Even if it is a spouse. They will also still black out certain pieces of information. I don't know if this is a case-by-case basis or what, but the cause of death was blacked out on the one from 1927, but on a couple of other from the same era, it was not. As far as the cemetery records go ... I've had no luck even locating the grave on this same individual even though he was supposedly buried in the cemetery listed on the death certificate. I'm not saying you won't find anything ... but records this old may have been lost or destroyed by now. Several hurricanes between now and then have done some damage around town ... I was even given this as a reason that this is why we can't find a grave/gravestone for this individual ... his son, who was a baby at the time, never even knew where his father was buried and the mother never visited the grave. He was perhaps buried in an unmarked pauper's grave whose records and location have since been lost.
