Listers am looking for an obit for this my uncle he died in Tampa 1945 sorry dont know the date . any help appreciated ps i live in New York . State. Steve.

Steve, You might try seeing if you can get a date of death ... the Tampa Tribune, the newspaper that would have carried the obit if there was one, is a very large newspaper. And nowadays, you want even find all the obituaries for people. If a family doesn't specifically request a obit be placed, or if a funeral home doesn't specifically so this as a service, an obit won't be found in the Trib any more. Also, because the paper is so large, you will need at least a month to look in for the microfilm in order to have any luck locating your obit. They don't look for you ... USF and the main branch of the Hillsborough County library have the newspaper on microfilm I believe. But, you have to request films by date.
