Had an ancestor that moved to Florida between 1917 and 1920. It states on the census that he owned the home and it was free . what I like to know is 1. was this home given to him by the Government?? 2. If it was, is there homestead papers or something for this home??? 3. Where can I get a copy of these papers?? Any information would be greatly appreciated at this time. take care Leslie
