Author: CorneliaStarkey60 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.florida.counties.hillsborough/236.280.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This is great to find a link to the Anderson Family. Here is what I was told about Martha Lightfoot and Barney Anderson and it came from my father. Martha Lightfoot was killed in a wagon in front of the children and later Barney Anderson was a Sheriff?, Constable? and was killed in the line of duty. I later find the children scattered living seperately in several different places. My grandmother was Helena Anderson, who married A. J. Loreant and they had 5 children, Emmanuel Loreant, Cornelia Loreant, Lorraine Loreant, Clifford Loreant and Bruce Loreant. A. J. was a rum runner during the depression and he and Helena divorced, she put the 2 youngest boys in the faith home, took the two girls with her and Emmanuel stayed with his Dad. Later A.J. came and got the two little boys and moved to Texas. My Dad did not talk about Helena to much. We would go see her if she was in Florida when we visited, and we went to see her when she was dying in 1957. When we visited Flori! da when I was a young girl I remenber seeing Theodore and his family, Theodore was a Baptist Preacher. This was in the Anclote area. We would also go see a cousin Daddy called Billy Bob who had a fishing boat. He was a very big man. There was an Aunt Nettie and another cousin, she looked alot like Daddy's sister. I found the family on the census role but I do not know anymore than that. I hope you can clear this up for me. Said Barney was from Belgium. Thanks for answering my mail, hope to hear more soon. I think we are on the right track. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [FLHILLSB] Query - JACKSON (Howell)
    2. Howdy Peggy, Well, the reason I'm writing again about this FRED L. JACKSON is, while researching him last night I noticed the surname of HOWELL connected to this family. Lavina Jane Howell who married David Lott Sellers. I got curious and this morning starting looking for her. My ex-father-in-law is a Howell. Even though I said "ex", we've stayed close. He is now deceased, however, Mom Howell is still living at the age of 93. We chat about every 2 weeks via telephone. She's a wonderful person. Now, about this HOWELL line. Wilbur Lloyd Howell is the name of my father-in-law. He died in 1977. His line goes back to Jesse Rue Howell, born 1793. Well, it seems, so does Lavina's line. (Small world, ain't it?!) LAVINA'S parents are: John George Howell born 1817 in Barnwell SC and died 1885 in Dade City, Pasco Mary Catherine Zeigler born 1815 in Barnwell SC and died 1885 in same. JOHN'S parents are: Jesse Rue Howell Jr born 1793 in Barnwell SC and died 1860 in Echols Co GA Mary Lightsey born 1798 in SC and died 1831 in SC Jesse Rue Howell Jr married #2, Mary Carolina Copeland.
