He died very younag and was reportedly in the cigar industry. Also reportedly his wife's name was Nell who moved to the Jacksonville area after his death in the early 1900's. Good Afternoon, I am trying to locate an obituary for my aunt Thelma Williams. I believe the obituary appeared in the Tampa Tribune. Is it possible for someone out there to look up the information for me and xerox the appropriate page? The obituary would have appeared between 9/12/1985 and 9/19/1985. I understand the Tampa Public Library, main branch, has copies of the Tampa Tribune for 1985. I have contacted them, but have been informed that staff will not look up an copy the obit. Thelma Williams born 1901, died 9/11/1985 a resident of Plant City, Hillsborough County, FL I reside in a distant state, so a visit to the library would not be possible for me at this time. Thanks much. temdc@aol.com
Janie, There is a Rocky Point in Hillsborough County at the eastern end of Courtney Campbell (Davis) Causeway which is SR-60. Rocky Point is a large island. I know where it is, but nothing of grave sites. There are some office buildings and a motel there, now. After much searching I finally found a reference to my ggrandfather on THOR at the Tampa Library. I requested it from my local library, it is a funeral notice from the Tampa Tribune, May 21, 1902. It states that he died at Rocky Point and the funeral would be at Rocky Point and be conducted by Undertaker Reed. Now my question...can anyone tell me where Rocky Point is/was located and any information on Undertaker Reed. Thanks in advance. I am trying to locate a Michael Joseph Slattery that move to Tampa, probably in 1930's. He was born between 1880 and 1890, probably in Madison County or Clark County in Ohio. I believe he had a son named Michael and possibly his wife's name was Nora. If you have any information on these Slattery's please contact me. Thanks Steve Slattery

Does anyone know if the Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon, FL is still in operation? I would like a mailing address for them to obtain funeral info on Cora H. Montgomery d. 03 Sep 1977 in Riverview, Hillsborough Co., FL. Also, in which newspaper in Hillsborough Co. would an obit for a death in Riverview have been printed? and which local genealogical society would have records for Riverview? There are several listed on the Hillsborough GenWeb site but I don't know which one to contact for this city. Thanks, Susan in Iowa

Hi all, now that vacation times are upon us, I thought to send out a reminder about email inboxes. If your email inbox maxes out and begins rejecting mail you may no longer be subscribed to many of your mailing lists. This administration program for this list drops people when it receives 8 rejects in a row. Deborah Byrd
Hi, Go to http://www.thpl.org This is the Tampa Public Library site-click on Library Catalog on the left side of the screen. This takes you to THOR which allows you to search obits by name from the Tampa Tribune. Regards, Suzanne Collins Matson
Could someone please give me the info for how to view the obits that are online for Tampa or Hillsborough. I used this site before, but have lost my info. I thought it was the Tampa Tribune that had this site, but I am not sure. You could go to the site and look up obits for lots of years. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of the site. Any help is appreciated. Yvonne
