Hello, I am new to the list and also a new researcher of my family history. I'm seeking anyone who might have information on my grandparents: Desma L. Kinzy (b. August 31, 1901 a native of Gwinnett County Georgia, d. August 24, 1974 in Tampa, Florida) Information on death certificate indicates John B. Wall as her father and Alice Page as her mother. I have learned from Desma's obituary that she had a sister, Mrs. Hortes Buck who at that time, resided in Sebring, Florida. Elzy W. Kinzy (b. July 13, 1897 believed to have been born in Georgia, d. September 20, 1988 in New Port Richey, Florida) Anyone with any info or advice, please email me. Thank you in advance. Michelle
Looking for the following folks and need your help, George Francis Herrick d. 1941 or 42. I believe it was here in Tampa that George passed on. He had relatives in the area; Brothers Edmund Herrick d. 1966 of Escambia<sp> , Robert Herrick d. 1981 of Seffner. Two daughters; Adelaide Roberts nee Herrick d. 1994 of Tampa, Bernice Albury nee Herrick d. 1992 and George's wife Mary Margaret Herrick nee Kennedy d. 1947. Adelaide's husband was Carl Roberts d. Feb 2000. I don't have much information about George and Mary Herrick, so if you know of this family, I would appreciate your help. I do know that there are living relatives in the area. But I don't know who these folks are. Hello List, I have a 1954 St. Petersburg City Directory (which is in Pinellas County, right next door to Hillsborough County) if anyone would like me to look up something. Just let me know off list. I'll be happy to check it for you. Phyllis (researching Woodmansee in Hillsborough County)
Deborah, I hope things are ok with your family emergency, I'm sure we can hold down the fort until you return. No flame wars or virus warnings, sheesh, you take all the fun out of it :)) BTW, I haven't seen any jokes in here. Take care. Good day, I am looking for info that will help me find my 2nd great grandfather and his son who moved to the Tampa area in the late 1800s. They are George Fretz WAGNER and his son, James Polk WAGNER who is listed in family history published in 1890 as a farmer in Tampa and single. George Fretz WAGNER is listed as dying in Tampa on October 16, 1889. James Polk's older brother died in 1906, so I would expect that James Polk lived in to the early 1900s before dying in Tampa. Looking to share info with WAGNER researchers in the Tampa area. Scott Wagner

Hi Deborah -your efforts to set up the web page are very effective. Looks great and I'm sure in time more will respond and post. Would it be helpful to make this announcement on the Florida Genealogy list? Just a thought. All death notices and most obits appear in the Tribune. The Tampa Public Library has all issues of the Trib on microfilm, which is how I've always retrieved copies. However, someone recently posted that these obits can be obtained online through the Tribune archives or the Tampa Library website. It would be great if that person would repost that info. Sally, Brandon's major newspaper is the Tampa Tribune. Tampa Tribune site for obits is: http://tampatrib.com/ and the Tribune archive site is: http://archive.tampatrib.com/ The trib charges a fee for archive articles. Also you can get older Tampa obits from this site: http://www.thpl.org/thpl/eresources/thor/thor_internet.html Click on: telnet thor.thpl.org Login name: thor (all lower case!). From there you want to go to TRAILS (number 8). Good luck, hope this helps. Marc, There is an online index of the Tampa Tribune from about 1904 to 1977. More volunteer effort at the library will extend the index. Information on using the index is at: http://scfn.thpl.lib.fl.us/thpl/eresources/thor/ And login as thor in lower case letters. There is an email address for those who might want to volunteer to work on Trails. BTW: I checked there is no Clifford RAMSEY in August indexed, there is a James RAMSEY indexed in 18 May of 1977 page D9 of the Manatee section. Otherwise to search for Clifford you will have to manually go through about 3 or 4 reels of film to search the entire month of August 1977. James' obit will take minutes to extract, Clifford closer to an hour without a date or page or section. "E. M.
