Checked out a map site from another list and it works great. Allows you to draw a map with counties highligted. I drew one of Georgia highlighting where my father's family lived and where my mother's family lived. Of course they didn't overlap so no color conflict. The program can't show mixed colors. The program allows you to set up 6 categories of highlights. Deborah Byrd http://monarch.tamu.edu/~maps2/

Today, I came across the Tampa Shores Baptist Church at Double Branch Road and Hillsborough Avenue. This is less than a mile from the Hillsborough-Pinellas county line and about 4.4 miles west of Webb Road. It is near the Upper Tampa Bay County Park.
Hi, i think Tampa Shores is mayb over in the Town & Country area off Memorial Blvd, around Webb Road area. Not sure but think mayb. Hope this may help, Bon
Leslie, I have a Florida death certificate in front of me for 1923.\ It has the full name of the deceased, date of death, place of death, cause of death marital status, name of spouse, name of both parents and where they were born, occupation of deceased, Attending Physician, Place of burial, date of burial, undertaker and where he is located. I ordered a death certificate from 1927 and it had basically the same info on it as you see today. You just have to remember that the information contained on it is only as good as the person providing the information's memory is. <grin> Even if it is a spouse. They will also still black out certain pieces of information. I don't know if this is a case-by-case basis or what, but the cause of death was blacked out on the one from 1927, but on a couple of other from the same era, it was not. As far as the cemetery records go ... I've had no luck even locating the grave on this same individual even though he was supposedly buried in the cemetery listed on the death certificate. I'm not saying you won't find anything ... but records this old may have been lost or destroyed by now. Several hurricanes between now and then have done some damage around town ... I was even given this as a reason that this is why we can't find a grave/gravestone for this individual ... his son, who was a baby at the time, never even knew where his father was buried and the mother never visited the grave. He was perhaps buried in an unmarked pauper's grave whose records and location have since been lost. This may have referred to an old "subdivision" like area .... or a little an unofficial city within a city that never was used as official postal address. There are lots of little areas like that in Tampa ... Sulphur Springs, Grant Park, Seminole Heights, etc. Tampa Shores does ring a distant bell ... but I can't say for proof positive. I am back. Still have a father by a miracle. really dicey for several days, then he rallied and is now back in the nursing home. Still looks like skin and bones and lists to port when set up in chair. Too many days coasting and sponging around Tarpon Springs, Bay Port and Tampa Florida. Thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers. Deborah Byrd

John Matcovitch died in Hillsborough county on Aug. 7, 1922. It is given twice on Hillsborough co. library as follows: PUB: Tampa Tribune (microfilm) Pub. Tampa tribune micro TITLE: Matcovitch, John; 1922 title Matcovitch,John 1922 SUBJECTS: Deaths Deaths date ll Aug. 1922 Sec.F.N.-p.5 DATE: 07 AUG 1922 SECTION: p.5 I don't know why two different dates are given. I believe John Matcovitch could be related through Nicholas Matcovich, my G. Grandfather, possibly his son John or perhaps a child of John's. If anyone is willing to do a obit lookup I would be most grateful. Phyllis
