Sheila, All I have to go by is the annoucement of death in the Tampa Tribune and I assusme, if I'm reading it correctly it says Bowes Funeral Home in Tampa. (I believe I told you Bowers and it's really BOWES.) . When they were in Pennsylvania, they lived in Clarion County which is several counties away from North East, near Erie. . I have no idea when they left there, although Stanley got his social security number there in 1958. The obit said she lived in the area for 7 years. Stanley was also in the Army Reserve from 1942 to 1962. I don't know if there is a possibility of records there telling where he was residing in the different years. I also plan to contact the Chamber of Commerce in Tampa and see if they can give me anything. Last April I was in contact with Larry Weaver who lives in Sun City, and is active in the American Legion post there. I wrote a long email to him last night, and it was rejected because his mailbox was full. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Hello Sheila Taylor, First I can't thank you enough for your help with my Moseley family line. I grew up in Apollo Beach, Florida until my 30's when I came to Ohio. I remember my Aunt Oveda Moseley she never did get married. I was 20 when she died. An was in Apollo Beach, my father never told me that she passed away. You said that you located another brother to George P. Moseley & Jesse Moseley but in a different precinct in 1900 Suwannee Co.. Could you please help fine him? Could also help me go further back in time on the Moseley family line? Thank you so much, I do appreciate every thing you are doing for me and my brothers & sisters. Patricia, I am not sure about the funeral home. I have lived in the Ruskin/ Hillsborough Co. are all my life and have not heard of a Bowers Funeral Home. I did call Lewers Funeral Home and talked to them thinking maybe to find out some info. They have not heard of a Bowers either. I also called Stowers funeral home because it is spelled so like Bowers, and they had no info. Is it possible that the burial was handled by an out of state? Social Security shows that Stanley was issued his card in PA. There is a Bowers W Tad Funeral Home in North East, PA. Just some food for thought. Do you know where they were interred? When my husband, Tom, as a young boy, first came to this country from Hungary in 1947, Stanley presented himself as a cousin of Tom's father. My husband had never heard anything about this man before. Dr. Weisshaus was very kind and took my husand to his house. At the time Dr. Weisshaus had a little girl anywhere from 3 to 5 years old. My husband does not remember her first name. In studying this connection, I have found an obituary in the Tampa Tribune for Harriett, one of those five-line obituaries that says the bare facts. She had been a resident of Sun City for 7 years prior to her death, and services were held in the Bowers Funeral Home in Tampa. No survivors were listed. The Social Security death index lists both Stanley and Harriett's place of residence as Ruskin. The final check was sent to Tampa. My questions are: Where are the records for the Bowers Funeral Home, which I understand, is no longer in business? I assume the daughter married and that she was the recipient of the death benefits. What is her married name? Since they lived in Sun City, is there any chance that records might have been kept there about former residents and what are the chances of finding out from them? Is there any other possibility for an obit for Stanley someplace other than the Tampa Tribune? I thank you very much for any assistance you can give me. Thanks for any help you can offer. I have all this and more on a the following site http://home.att.net/~BrenPolice/famtree/402.htm This links you to my great-grandmother husband which you will find all the information I have. I am in the process of getting paper work out to get death certificates on a few names. but if you know of an easier way lets go for it. Seems as though I may be pulling out a few skeletons in my family closet. I find this rather interesting, and am having fun doing it. Brenda J. Brenda, There is a Mrs. Enriqueta Gonzalez age 40, who died Dec, 1913 listed as having a Tampa Tribune death notice by checking the "Tampa History and Obituary Index" http://ipac.hcplc.org/ipac20/ipac.jsp?&profile=dial&menu=Online%20Resources&submenu=news#focus The death index of death certificates for 1913 is not good since the certificate generally were not required. Many people came to Tampa via Key West by steamer. There are records of the steamers coming into Key West from outside the U.S. too. There are very good cemetery book collections for Hillsborough County which you might check. If you can visit the downtown Tampa branch of the public library, all of these things are there. I used to drive down there to use them. Good luck, "Brenda J. Police" <BrenPolice@worldnet.att.net> wrote: > > The only thing I know of my great-grandmother Margarita Gonzalez Oct > 1873-1913. if i remember right (its been years since i been back to limona(my birthplace) i think the rt. is #60, you'd go down whats called lakeside drive , there was a super wal-mart on corner go about two miles across a railroad track and the limona cemetary is there a block or so from rr track. there was a write up in the tampa tribune about the moseley family from limona, but i really don't remember what year. my family homesteaded there back in early 1900's. i think the moseleys did too. your best bet would to find the article in the tampa tribune. about the moseley family. i honestly dont know if i still have the article or not. it was a few years ago. sincerely yours, c, myers, i'm sorry i'm not much help if i find the article i'll forward it to you **charlotte l. myers** *may god bless you* *forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead* *philippians 3:13* *never look down on someone unless your helping them up*
